FAQ

Due to travel, orders placed November 19 - 26, 2017 will not be processed until November 27. My shop is open for business, but just a slight delay in processing times. Thank you and happy Thanksgiving!

How can I pay?

BloomingOak offers direct checkout powered by Stripe that allows you to securely check out directly using your credit card.

BloomingOak also offers PayPal as a payment processor and accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. You do not need to have a PayPal account to pay via PayPal.

Does BloomingOak Design collect sales tax?

By law, BloomingOak Design collects sales tax on purchases to customers residing in Michigan.  MI tax is 6%.  We do not collect sales tax for buyers in other states.

When will you send my package?

Processing time is generally 3-5 business days for items that are already made.  If you request a custom order, processing time will be discussed and agreed upon before work begins.

Do you offer free shipping?

Shipping is free for orders over $75.00.  No coupon necessary.  The discount will be applied automatically at checkout.

Can I request something special?

Of course!  I would love to make something just for you.  BloomingOak Design will gladly accept custom orders. 

If you see an item that you like but perhaps want a different type of chain, clasp or earwire, for example, I can gladly fulfill most such requests.  I will always let you know any price differences before you place your order.  I also take requests to hand knot any necklaces, particularly pearls.

Contact me to with your request to initiate the discussion.  Once we finalize details, I will set up a custom listing for you to purchase that lists all the agreed up details of your request. 

All custom requests must be paid in full before work begins.

How do you ship?

Standard orders are shipped within 3-5 days of receipt of payment via USPS First Class Package or Priority (depending on weight) with delivery confirmation.  Custom orders generally are shipped in 1-2 weeks; the time frame will be discussed and agreed to at time of purchase.   

Please double check your shipping address!  If a customer provides an incorrect address, the customer can pay the additional shipping fees to reship once/if the item is returned to me. 

When possible, I use earth-friendly and/or recycled shipping materials.

Do you ship outside of the United States?

While I do not currently have shipping profiles listed for countries other than the U.S. and Canada, I'm happy to ship to other locations.  Please note that customers are always responsible for any import tax or custom fees their country may impose.  If you are located outside of the U.S., please contact me and I will happily ship to your location.  I will communicate shipping cost which must be paid before I ship.

Do you offer discounts or coupons?

Yes! If you sign up for my email subscriber list you will receive a coupon to use on your purchase. In my periodic emails, you will always additional specials for subscribers.

I also offer a "thank you" coupon that you will receive with your purchase that you can use on your next purchase.

Can I return my item?

BloomingOak’s goal is for you to be satisfied with your purchase.  Please purchase carefully.   Don't hesitate to let me know if you've received something in error, something damaged, or something you just don't like.  If you feel an item has been grossly misrepresented or arrives damaged, you may return it within 14 business days of receiving your purchase (based on tracking delivery confirmation).  Please contact me before returning an item so we can work to resolve the issue.  If damaged, please send a photograph of the damage; I cannot issue a refund without the photo. 

Should you need to return your purchase, you will receive a refund in the amount of the original purchase price, less the shipping charge, after the item been received back by BloomingOak Design.  All returned items must be received in the same condition they were sent.  Refunds will only be issued after the item has been received back by BloomingOak Design.

Can you gift wrap?

If you would like your item gift wrapped, please contact me.  I will gladly gift wrap.  I can include special packaging and a hand written note.  Shipping charges could increase due to the size of the wrapping or necessary packaging, but I will let you know so you can decide if you want to proceed.  Please contact me to let me know of the occasion, shipping address, and personal message to include in the package so we can determine if there will be additional cost to you.

Do you have a newsletter or email list?

I'd love to include you on my email newsletter where I periodically offer specials and information for subscribers.

How do I take care of my jewelry?

All my ear wires are formed from sterling silver wire that is softer than base metals. For fish hook style ear wires, please twist (like a screw) rather than push the ear nuts / backs to remove and put on. This will prevent accidentally bending the silver ear wire. The earring back will loosen over time.

Sterling silver tarnishes. The best defense is to wear your jewelry often! However, if you want to polish it, you can use a bit of cream silver polish then dry carefully with a soft towel. You can use cream copper polish on my copper items.

How are your ear wires sized?

I make my ear wires in the following sizes:

  • French hook / Fish hook style - 21 gauge wire
  • Kidney wire / Locking wire - 22 gauge wire
  • Post / Stud - 20 gauge

I'm happy to make a pair of earrings for you with a different thickness of wire. Just contact me!

Are your items kid friendly?

Unless otherwise specifically specified, my items are always intended for responsible adults.  By purchasing my products you are assuming liability for their use. All my items are intended for use by adults and are not designed to be child-safe.  Some of my items are small and could be worn by a young person, but they are not designed to be safe for young children.  None of my products is intended for human consumption and should be kept out of the mouth.
